Privacy Policy

This website is a simple, static site for Ras Shitan Cafe. We collect as little as possible, we set no cookies of our own, and we have no analytics or advertising trackers. This page explains the few cases where personal data is involved, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible

Ras Shitan Cafe, Ras Shitan, Nuweiba, South Sinai, Egypt, is the controller of personal data processed through this website. For any privacy question or request, contact us at amr@ras.cafe.

2. What we process and why

Server log files

Our web server records every request to the site. The log contains your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser's user-agent string.

• Purpose: keeping the site available, secure and functioning, and diagnosing faults.
• Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Retention: log files are rotated daily and deleted after 14 days.

Email us

This site does not have a contact form. If you email us at amr@ras.cafe, we receive your email address and whatever you write to us.

• Purpose: answering your enquiry.
• Legal basis: your request and, where relevant, our legitimate interest in responding to it (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
• Retention: we keep correspondence only as long as needed to handle your enquiry, then delete it.

3. What we do not do

• We set no cookies and use no local storage.
• We use no analytics, advertising or tracking services.
• We do not create profiles, and we do not sell or share your data.
• We use no third-party content that would contact another company when you load a page. Fonts are served from this site, and the map on the contact page is a static image.

4. Who else is involved

Our hosting provider processes the server logs described above on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Aside from that, your data stays with us.

Because the cafe is located outside the EU, enquiries you send us by email are transferred to and stored outside the European Economic Area. Where the GDPR applies to that transfer, it is based on the necessity of handling your request (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR). Please do not send sensitive information by email.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct data that is inaccurate;
• ask us to delete your data;
• ask us to restrict how your data is used;
• object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
• complain to your national data protection authority.

To exercise any of these, email amr@ras.cafe. We will respond within one month.

6. Changes to this policy

If we change how the site works — for example by adding a booking form or an embedded map — we will update this page and the date at the top.
